It's spring break, I'm sittin' here in a hotel, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, with my family, and realized that I haven't blogged in a few weeks. Wow, look at all the commas, but I digress. This will be a little different than my previous posts. I just wanted to give y'all an update on my journey and what I've been workin' on that has taken me away from the bloggin' world.
My journey with DDPYoga has been goin' great. My family and I were shoppin' at my new favorite store, Khol's (Maybe the plug will get me some extra Khol's Cash. Yeah, I doubt it too.) The reason I say that, because their clothes actually fit me now. Before, the only things that would fit me were socks and cologne and both of them were tight. Anyway, we were shoppin' and I discovered that I'm down another pants size. If your keepin' score at home, I've gone from a 42 inch waist down to (now) a 33.
Now, I will be honest and I am man enough to admit that I've been eatin' food that I shouldn't be on this little mini vacation. I know, I know, but nobody is perfect. We are only human and to eat perfect is impossible. We can only use perfection as a goal and motivator. It's kinda like what Matthew Mcconaughey said in his oscar speech about lookin' up to himself. He knows he'll never live up to it, but that's what drives him. I might have fell off the ol' wagon a little, but that's Alright, Alright, Alright!! (I had to, I just had to)
Like I said, I've dropped another size, but my wife, she has gone from a size 13 to a 6. She oughta have a blog too, she's kickin' some serious ass.
Now, for the reason that I've been away from bloggin' for a little while. I'm workin' towards an additional goal. You've heard of Marc Mero right? C'mon, you know, Johnny B. Bad, The Wildman, boxer turned pro wrestler, Marc Mero. See, I told you that you knew him.
He has a non profit, anti bullyin' group called Champion of Choices. I've been poundin' the pavement to get Marc and the Champion of Choices team to come to my area.
There are a major problem in our kids schools. Marc and the COC team work tirelessly to spread a message of anti bullyin'. When you think about it, it's basically the same principles as DDP Yoga. It's a message of self worth, lovin' yourself, and health (mental and physical). I heard Marc on DDP Radio several weeks ago and I said "I have to get him to come to East Texas!".
On a side note, if you've never listened to DDP Radio podcast, please do. It is pure inspiration and motivation. It comes on Wednesdays at 9pm est. Go to www.blogtalkradio.com/ddpradio.
Now, back to the goal. You see, my 9 year old son has already had to deal with bullyin'. I don't want him to have to deal with this shit as he gets older. It's different than when I was in school. With email, textin', and social media, they can't get away from it. When I was in school, I could feel safe when I got home. They can't, it follows them wherever they go. It even follows them home where they are suppose to feel safe like I did. The horrible and sad part is that many are takin' their own lives just to get it to stop. It just breaks your heart thinkin' that it has gotten to that point.
Thank God above that we have guys like Marc Mero and DDP who are just plain good people. Two pro wrestlers who have used their fame and notoriety to make a difference in this world. I guarantee you, DDP has made a major impact in mine and my family's lives. I know that Marc will impact our kids lives.
Well, that's the update, the goal, the scoop, the "...rest of the story". (Lol, God bless Paul Harvey)
